I'm not one to talk about my family much, but I've got to tell you guys A Story About My Uncle. Okay, okay, it's not my uncle, or anyone I know, but Gone North Games wants to share this story with you in the form of a nonviolent, first person platformer coming to PCs on May 28.
Published by Coffee Stain Studios of Goat Simulator infamy, A Story About My Uncle will take you on an adventure to a world that nobody thought existed. A father is telling his daughter a bedtime story about the adventure he took while he was just a young boy. He wanted nothing more than to be able to follow his uncle on grand adventures throughout the world. That is, until his uncle suddenly disappeared one day. The youth took after him, and with a little help from some inventions, explores a beautiful world in search of Uncle Fred.
Movement and story are the two biggest core components of this story. Gone North stresses that A Story About My Uncle is focused on story and not on action. The gameplay about moving around with a laser like grappling hook and exploring the world around you and not so much shooting up any aliens that come your way. Each life form you come across has its own story that might have clues about what happened to your Uncle Fred. After all, you're just a kid. Shooting a bunch of aliens probably isn't the first thing on your mind anyway... right?
A Story About My Uncle releases May 28 exclusively for PC. Prepare yourselves by experiencing the beautiful trailer below.
