Hmm.. I don't know it does look like Souls but more horror. And maybe harder too if fighting 6 guys at once is any indication.

Pretty sure those are all zombies, even the dog. Wonder what this will end up being.

I spy a fog wall.

First thought was DkS2 DLC, but it looks so...different. Don't think they have the IP rights for Demons' Souls again, so maybe it's something completely new in the Souls line, or maybe a very early DkS3 look? That seems so, so early though considering 2 is still so new.

Sony owns the Demon Soul's IP and this title is rumored to be collab between Sony Japan/From Software.
So it's not DkS3. It's probably Demon Souls 2 or another spiritual successor.

Iirc the team that worked on Demon Souls+Dark Souls is different from the team that worked on Dark Souls 2. The original team might have been working on this title, while DkS2 was being made by the 2nd team. :I

Pretty sure only the director changed, everyone else is basically the same.

The shotgun does seem random as hell but it could work if the Avelyn does.

All I know is Sony + Kadokawa = big budget = no cut content

The art style does look very much like a Souls game, they'll be cutting off 2/3 of their current fanbase by making it exclusive but on the other hand the fanbase won't be split this time.

Could be Sony's first system seller tbh. I'm so excited!

I remember seeing a post showing the comparison. So the director wasn't the only one who changed.

Would be correct, the only announced change in staff was the director. FromSoft only has like 200 employees or something, but apparently they managed to make two teams out of that.

edit: Guess somebody made a list, cool.

While they may certainly lose some of the fans, I think you are underestimating the percent the PS owners account for. I would say 50-60 percent of current owners are PS players. PC I think see a lot of dual owners.

Not saying it's right, but if MS can toss a lot of money EAs way for Titanfall, I would say Sony is within their rights getting a great smaller developer like From to make a game that will pull in the sales. Much smarter than grabbing dudebro shooter version 78.

Could very well be a return to anyhing from Kings Field to Demons Souls 2, or a new IP entirely. Sony does own the Demons IP, and if they want to collab on a sequel with From, one thats PS exclusive to bolster sales, now is the perfect time.

It seems more like a new IP, since the protagonist isn't wearing armor, and the previous games (King's Field, Shadow Tower, Demon's Souls, Dark Souls), usually have shown the protagonist wearing armor.

Seems like it could be another addition to Shadow Tower, as not to impose on the success of Dark Souls 2, and instead to create a new addition to an existing series that was different enough to maintain it's own appeal apart from Dark Souls 2. Shadow Tower also featured vintage firearms. I've been waiting for them to go back to King's Field, but i'll take an ST sequel just the same. I found Dark Souls 2 incredibly disappointing.
