Nintendo will tease a look at what awaits its faithful over the coming months through its "Play Nintendo" lineup of presentations this E3, but the console giant already dismisses rumors that it will unveil a new console in the process. Speaking to various media outlets, Nintendo reps confirm that the company has no plans to announce a new platform, or a new revision of any of its currently available platforms, during E3 in Los Angeles next month.
Well, that was awfully forward of Nintendo. Of course that certainly doesn't discount the company from working on new hardware as we speak. Nintendo previously confirmed it is working on a "quality of life" platform due to be revealed before end of the current fiscal year ending March 2015, but this isn't expected to be "traditional" gaming hardware for gamers.
