Earlier this morning Disney and developer Avalanche announced version 2.0 of Disney Infinity, Marvel Super Heroes. Now that they've released the announcement trailer I figured it was worth its own article analyzing it and talking about what figures have been confirmed versus what's being teased. For those unfamiliar, Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes will launch later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, 3DS, iOS and PC.
Six figures have currently been announced for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes' launch. It shouldn't be any surprise to hear that they'll be The Core Avengers:
- Iron Man
- Captain America
- Black Widow
However, with the announcement trailer several other character have been revealed in-game. Whether or not they'll eventually be made into figurines is unclear, but they're certainly going to be part of the game in some way or another. Here are the heroes and villains teased in the trailer:
- Green Goblin
- Nick Fury
- Rocket Raccoon
While the rest of the Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes announcement trailer doesn't showcase much in terms of hard features, they do definitely imply a larger focus on combat. Mike Wazowski can hold his own with any super hero.
Expect more information on Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes leading into and at E3. For now, we'll have to settle for the news that the game will be launching later this year on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, iOS and 3DS, as well as jumping the generation divide to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Edit: Special note, but did anyone else notice Stitch on the side of the building at :09? Thanks for pointing that out, @Stitch!
