Ultra Street Fighter IV, one of the best ways to take out your anger on friends, enemies, or pets with opposable thumbs, gained a shiny new English trailer today. Capcom released the video to showcase a plethora of characters, including five brand new fighters, as well as six new battlefields. Players will be able to pick up the game and beat down their opponents this summer.
The new trailer shows off five new challengers - Elena, Rolento, Poison, Hugo, and Decabre, as well as six arenas across the world just waiting for player battles. Elena attacks her enemies with choreographed skills and talent, while Rolento, the soldier, whips out his entire arsenal of weapons for war. Poison actually uses her whip and martial arts to deliver blows to challengers, including Hugo, the giant wrestler who's only goal is to crush his enemies and their spines. Decabre, the shadow, uses her speed and stealth to strike fellow fighters and cut them down to size.
A new battle system has also been implemented, changing up the competitive gameplay. The Red Focus Attack allows players to defend against and absorb multiple strong attacks, then dish the damage right back at their aggressor. Another new feature is the Ultra Combo Double that allows challengers to release both of their ultra combos in one round, eloquently demonstrated by Zangief destroying Vega. Team battles have also been improved, implementing a system based solely on K.O.s, where players continue to battle until their character is knocked out. Training online is now allowed, meaning players can train with real people on the other side of the world if they so choose. Last but not least is the YouTube Upload feature, allowing anyone to upload replay videos at any time directly from the console. Handy, right?
There isn't too long a wait, but how can someone truly put a measure on the wait to smash your mortal enemies? The next installment in the Street Fighter IV series has not yet been given an exact release date, but players will be able to pick it up on the Xbox 360 and PS3 starting in June. Unfortunately, PC players will have to wait a little longer, with the digital version coming in August.
