Over a month ago Sony was quite delighted to report that PlayStation 4 hardware sales hit 6 million units following the official Japanese launch. The electronics and console giant is still smiling, because that sales figure has grown to become 7 million units across 72 countries and regions worldwide as of April 6th.
That's an additional one million PS4s sold after a little over six weeks. What's more, physical and digital PS4 software sales combined reached 20.5 million units three days ago. While InFamous: Second Son was certainly a system seller for the new platform, Sony promises even more greatness awaits with an estimated 120 titles due throughout 2014.
Since sharing is caring, Sony also confirms that players have captured over 135 million shares using the DualShock 4 SHARE button, and used the PS4 to record more than 4.9 million gameplay broadcasts and nearly 90 million spectate sessions over Twitch and Ustream.
