Earlier today, North American retailer GameStop put a listing for Tales of Hearts, also known as Tales of Hearts R internationally, on the PS Vita on their website. If the leak is true -- and we hope it is -- then the next localized installment in the Tales series following Zestiria and Xillia 2 will be sold exclusively by GameStop for $39.99.
Tales of Hearts R, released on the PlayStation Vita in 2012, is an updated version of Tales of Hearts for the Nintendo DS. Hearts tells the story of hero and heroine Shing Meteoryte and Amber Hearts (respectively) as they travel through the world searching for Amber's "soma," a form of life energy and power found in the humans of their world. Hearts R introduces two new playable characters, as well as presents the game in full 3D graphics with an updated Linear Motion Battle System, this time called "CNAR-LMBS", or Combination Aerial.
Namco Bandai has not yet released an official statement regarding the rumored release, though this would follow the series' two-year localization delay that we've seen in recent years. Oddly enough, however, GameStop is marketing this title as retailer-exclusive, a first for the Tales series. Let's hope that the pattern proves to be true so we can expect a localized Tales of Hearts for the PlayStation Vita in 2014.
