As per protocol, Infinity Ward's "Devastation" DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts is currently going through its month-long exclusivity on Xbox One and Xbox 360. It should come as no surprise then that Activision has set the release date of the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the DLC then for May 8. That's just a month and a few days after the exclusivity period will end. Hooray! Everyone gets to play the cool content instead of just a limited few due to huge sums of money! Hooray!
Also not surprising, but quite interesting, is it seems like Activision has begun advertising the release of the "non-Xbox" DLC release date earlier than usual. It's not surprising since even Activision can see that the PlayStation 4 is building a sales lead over the Xbox One. It could just be a matter of time before Sony's back on top and the Xbox Call of Duty partnership becomes a burden. If advertising the PS4 DLC earlier and earlier is the least Activision can do, then who can fault them.
Those familiar with Call of Duty: Ghosts should already be familiar with the content included in the Devastation DLC pack, but here's a quick recap. Included are four maps: Ruins, Collision, Behemoth and remade Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 classic Dome now renamed Unearthed. Also packaged in is the "Ripper" assault rifle/SMG 2-in-1 combo gun and the second chapter of the Extinction mode adventure titled "Mayday" .
Call of Duty: Ghosts is currently available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Wii U. The Devastation DLC pack on Xbox One and Xbox 360, but won't arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC until May 8.
