Smash Bros. producer Masahiro Sakurai wastes no time to confirm that Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii still have no concrete release dates. Disappointment out of the way, he did manage to disclose that the 3DS version of the game will launch first sometime this summer while the home console release will be released (much) later during winter.
Yes, there's that much of a gap between the two versions, as Nintendo and Namco Bandai are really looking to polish the home console release. That said, the 3DS version doesn't appear to be a slouch by running at 60 FPS (no, not at 1080p chuckleheads) even with the stereoscopic 3D cranked up. Assist trophy "characters" meanwhile will run at 30FPS. The 3DS version also supports online multiplayer just like the Wii U release.
