The Elder Scrolls Online, Zenimax's MMO take of the popular single-player fantasy series, is now available on PC and Mac. Years of development, controversy and excitement has built to this one moment. What better and more symbolic way to celebrate an MMO launch than with the release of a cinematic trailer titled "The Siege". Third chapter to the two previously released ESO cinematic trailers, events reach a reckoning herein.
The war-torn representatives from each faction are back, though each of them has been changed in various ways due to the events of the previous cinematic trailers. Expect surprises as the "good guys" attempt a siege of Mannimarco's fortress as the necromancer tries to summon Molag Bal into the world of Tamriel. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of these characters again before too long.
Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online, prepared a statement for the launch of his MMO:
"I am incredibly proud of the team that has been working hard to bring Tamriel to life online and am extremely grateful for everyone in the ever-growing ESO community. Making a AAA online RPG with the scope and scale of The Elder Scrolls Online is a daunting development effort, and we couldn’t have done it without our talented team and the most supportive fans in the world. Thanks for helping us reach this day.
Development doesn’t stop here. Soon we’ll be unveiling Craglorn, our first Veteran-level, end-game zone tailored for small and large groups which offers lots more hours of gameplay and new areas to explore– and we’ll continue to add new systems and exciting content regularly. And of course, we are still hard-at-work on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game as well."
Now available on PC and Mac, The Elder Scrolls Online will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One starting in June later this year. The Elder Scrolls Online focuses on recreating the story and atmosphere of an Elder Scrolls single-player title with all of the features expected of a fully-online MMORPG. Experience the story of the Five Companions, join the Thieves, Fighters and Mage guilds, but also plow through dungeons and PvP with huge groups of friends.
