There goes one more down at Naughty Dog. Today, less than a month after creative director Amy Hennig, Uncharted 4 game director Justin Richmond has announced that he will also be leaving the company. Sony Computer Entertainment of America has revealed that the development timeline for the PS4 installment in the Uncharted series will remain unchanged.
It appears as though Richmond is leaving on good terms, seemingly with love for the company in mind. With this being the second Naughty Dog high employee leaving in less than a month though, one can't help but wonder if we're not receiving the full story. Don't worry too much, the man with a rich history working on the series will not completely disappear from the scene. Richmond has announced that he has joined the team at Riot Games, the studio behind League of Legends.
"I have in fact made the decision to leave Naughty Dog. I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward. On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can't wait to be a part of."
As a huge Naughty Dog fan, I personally hope that Uncharted for the PS4 does not suffer from these recent losses. Rest assured, however, that the game will still be released in its original window, late 2014 - mid 2015, provided there are no future delays from the mix-ups occuring within the company.
