Battlefield 4's development woes continue, it appears, as today EA DICE announced that both the PC and Xbox One versions of the upcoming "Naval Warfare" DLC have been delayed. Due to seperate reasons, compatibility issues on mid-range PCs and animation issues on Xbox One, Naval Warfare is now targeted for an early April launch on both platforms -- but only so long as the bugs are quashed. The PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Naval Warfare have launched today as planned.
EA DICE's community team provided an update that gamers will find familiar:
"We know that many Battlefield 4 Premium owners wanted to play Naval Strike today. However, we didn’t want to release the new content until we believed it was quality content.
We are trying to resolve these problems as quickly as possible and hope to release the update in early April for Xbox One and PC. We also want to remind Xbox One and PC owners of Battlefield 4 Premium that they will have two weeks early access for Naval Strike once it’s released. Thanks for your continued patience and passion for our games."
Naval Warfare adds four new maps to Battlefield 4, as well as two new game modes: the popular Titan Mode from Battlefield 2142 and the Carrier Assault game mode. Two more DLC packs, Dragon's Teeth and Final Stand, are planned for release later this year as part the premium package.
