Wow. I'm pretty surprised that Titanfall didn't at least come second, to be honest!

I'm shocked GZ came in second, what with the anti-hypetrain and all.

I'm pretty happy with it though. Put about 10 hours into it, and I'm only at 23% with about 4 of 15 trophies and still have 6 or 7 cassette tapes left.

The cassette tapes are really good too. I listened to all the briefing files in Peace Walker and enjoyed them, but GZ is something else. The Phantom Pain is easily going to be the darkest, most brutal, and controversial MGS title yet if GZ is any indication.

And Skull Face might be the most monstrous and terrifying villain in gaming history already, even with such little screen time. I'm really interested to see where they take his character in The Phantom Pain.

Skull Face is a dick! I'm gonna enjoy killing that SOB in Phanton Pain.

Damn you, Drogo Baggins!! You just cost me 30€:s!

I've been on the edge on whether or not to get GZ, and you just pushed me over the edge.

As much as I love it though, I'd really only suggest big MGS fans buy it at full price.

Seeing the tone (in terms of story and gameplay) it's setting for The Phantom Pain is worth the cost of admission for me. The fun and having new MGS to play is icing on the cake.

But it is pretty short. It's not quite as short as most folks (who haven't even played the game) say, but if you're just playing to get it done and walk away from it, you'll probably beat every mission in about 4-5 hours total. Not bad for a half price game, imo, but it's a problem for some folks it seems.

I also really love MGS lore, and the cassette tapes are good for that. I haven't found them all, but there's one cassette tape in particular that honestly includes the most disturbing moment I've ever experienced in a game. I can't think of anything that even comes close, though I have missed some big titles over the years with potential for disturbiness.
