The next Assassin's Creed could be set in 18th-century Paris, if newly leaked images of the Assassin's Creed: Unity project are to be believed. As one of two Assassin's Creed titles rumored to be released this year, the codenamed Assassin's Creed: Unity is in development for current-gen platforms, as in Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The other alleged 2014 Assassin's Creed game, known as Comet, will be for last-gen devices like the Xbox 360 and PS3.
The collection of leaked screenshots of Assassin's Creed: Unity depict a figure in iconic Assassin's garb, and backgrounds featuring notable Parisian landmarks like the Notre-Dame Cathedral and Siene River. The game shown is obviously still in its early stages, but the "parkour up" and "parkour down" options displayed in the HUD are plenty notable. Whether they'll end up in the final product is another matter.
The below image gives a better glimpse of the unknown Assassin's outfit. It's certainly era appropriate, and he might even blend in if he'd take the hood off.
As a little backstory, the images were sent to Kotaku by an anonymous source, while the news of two Assassin's Creed 2014 releases were confirmed by numerous sources. For now, all of this should still be considered rumor material, but feel free to get excited.
