Fans of the popular World of Tanks will be enthused to hear of the closed beta announced today for World of Tanks Blitz, a successor title announced for mobile platforms. Though anybody with a Wargaming account can register for the closed beta, there is no guarantee that anyone will get in. And of course Wargaming reserves the right to delete all beta content, meaning players cannot access beta profiles following the live launch.
World of Tanks Blitz is a combat game featuring tanks, tanks, and more tanks. Over 100 various vehicles, defined by their type, country, and weight class, will be available to players in the closed beta. The main gameplay mode is a 7-on-7 PvP combat session allowing players from all over the world to choose their favorite tank and blast down the enemies. The goal of the closed beta is to test the title and report bugs to assist in furthering the development of the product.
Andrei Ryaboval, Director of Global Operations at Wargaming, says the following regarding the upcoming beta:
“World of Tanks Blitz Closed Beta will get us one step closer to building an online gaming universe, persistently available on a variety of platforms. We think that's a great goal, and we'll be working on ways to make the tank combat experience on tablets and smartphones even more engaging, based on the feedback we receive.”
The World of Tanks Blitz beta is open for registration now. Interested players can place their names in the hat on the official Wargaming website. The World of Tanks Blitz closed beta is currently available on most iPad tablets, with Android OS and iOS smartphone support coming in the near future.
