Yeah, the speech was pretty bad and it is probably more pronounced with additional polygons to make it even more obvious when sounds aren't matching what their faces actually show. I'll have to buy the game, maybe get it tomorrow at Gamestop or something. I loved the international version, there was just so damn much more than the NA version to do. Still I gotta say I feel this (like so many other games) could have even done more with the post-game, but the PS2 limited it in that sense as far as space and online capabilities.

I got my copy a few hours ago. I had to pay $27.27 (pennies? I thought they stopped that!). DHL shipping for the CE + PSV Copy. Bit pricy, that, but the Square-Enix online store was the only way to pre-order it. Didn't expect to be hit by that Customs Fee, nor that it would be that high. Ah well.

I've recorded about 2.5 hours of video, so that's good at least. Currently encoding it, hope it turns out alright and all (timing not off with the audio, etc).

The Lip Sync is far worse than I remember it being. No JP language option, which sucks (I thought the International Version had it, though it seems not) but ah well.

I would play it on mute, but I found the soundtrack to be superb. Not as good as FFX, but music in Zanarkand, Macalania, and the opening credits (before starting) are easily on par with a few of its tracks.

Can't wait for this. FFX is probably my 2nd favorite FF game, and X-2 was mad fun. Can't wait to go through these again, and finally experience the Intl. Versions which I never had the liberty of playing.
As annoying as everyone in X-2 was, it is a great game to play on mute. The gameplay was seriously awesome.

I wasn't a fan of 10 either. In addition to the whiny protagonist, it featured an aggravating amount of annoying and ultimately pointless minigames
FFX is one of my fav games, I played it twice but never bothered with the minigames. I mean you are not forced to play them are you?

I see people everywhere talking about preordering the HD version but does noone consider buying digital? I know I will be cos I already have the PS2 version in perfect condition and don't need another physical copy. I did the same with Okami HD although it was digital only anyway.

Didn't realize that it was this close. I pre-ordered it on Square-Enix's online store, I'm in Canada and they don't really have a Canadian site (The Canada option takes you to the USA site). Might be a few days after release before I get to play this TBH. Ah well, I'll enjoy it all the same! I never played either game legitimately, but I will this time!

Why isn't this on PC?
It's rather unfortunate, but Japan's game devs/publishers generally ignore the PC. It's mostly niche titles that got released on it, I think. There is a recent trend that's testing the waters however. More titles are getting ported to PC (albeit, often inexpertly I think). Square and Capcom in particular, seems to be finding it more attractive as of late. Releasing back catalogue titles on PC mainly, but it's a start.

I found FF X very boring and with a rather lackluster main character, Tidus whining at the start of the game really takes the magic out of it.
I wasn't a fan of 10 either. In addition to the whiny protagonist, it featured an aggravating amount of annoying and ultimately pointless minigames (dodge lightning, the chocobo race, etc.). What do you get for your troubles? The "Ultimate" weapons for each character which can be outclassed by easily acquiring empty 4 slot weapons and customizing them with more useful abilities. Blitzball was a missed opportunity that, despite having a wide variety of potential players to recruit and moves to learn, simply boiled down to "Give Tidus the ball; use Jecht shot; repeat until time runs out; win."

However, it did do some interesting things which save it from being entirely disappointing. Having each of the characters specialized against certain enemy types was cool, as was "overkilling" for bonus XP. The music was also fantastic.

For bonus hilarity, rename Tidus "Jesus" so that you can join Jesus and his pals as they travel the world battling Sin.
