If you couldn't wait for a second taste of the PS3 and Steam title, Guacamelee, chances are that the announcement of the next dish in the series, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, comes as pretty exciting news. Earlier today, DrinkBox Studios announced an expanded edition of the original Mexican masterpiece for release on all next-gen consoles and Xbox 360. And the best news coming from the upgraded release? Players will be able to have multiple save files, allowing for an endless massacre of all things luchador.
Food puns aside, Super Turbo Championship Edition was cooked up with multiple platforms in mind. Ryan MacLean, co-founder of DrinkBox Studios, revealed that the company has always wanted to see the epic action platformer on home consoles.
“It’s always been our plan to bring Guacamelee! to additional platforms in order to share the game’s unique world with as many gamers as possible; however, we wanted to go one step further and provide fans with new content and features. We feel that Super Turbo Championship Edition’s new levels, enemies and abilities (did somebody say explosive eggs?) will provide armchair luchadores with the richest Guac experience ever.”
Currently, there is not a release date for the main course. However, expect to see editor Rory Young downloading his copy on day one. Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will be available soon for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii U, letting you taste the life of a luchador in glorious HD goodness.
