A leaked image circulating the Internet points to a possible Dishonored II reveal this year at E3 in June, and you can bet we're excited. The image in question is a teaser of a teaser, practically, simply showing a screen featuring the logo for Dishonored II, followup to Arkane Studios' 2012 hit, Dishonored.
In the photo, a slide displays the alleged game title, a logo featuring a bird (most likely an emblem of some sort), and the words "#DarknessOfTyvia." Tyvia, for those who aren't aware, is one of the islands under the Empress' rule, mentioned only in passing in Dishonored. As the northernmost island in the Empire of Isles, it's also the coldest in terms of climate.
As with so many other major leaks, the Dishonored II rumor originates from NeoGAF, which might actually add to its validity. That being said, every rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, no matter where it started from.
Though still unconfirmed at this point, a second Dishonored game would not come as a huge surprise. When the first-person stealth debuted in 2012 and exceeded sales expectations, publisher Bethesda expressed hopes of starting a franchise. Hey, people loved the game, so why not? I'd certainly welcome another trip to the Isles, given how much fun the first one was.
Thanks for the tip, Dragoon!
