These past few years haven't been smooth sailing for Konami, but the publisher is trying to change that. Today, they've announced Tomohiro Uesugi as the new President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.
In an official statement to the press, Uesugi expressed his gratitude for this opportunity, stating he is "honored" to be made leader of the entire Konami family.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the head of our talented and passionate employees, and I have a deep respect for our community of fans. We will focus on our talent and iconic brands as we continue to provide innovative products for even deeper and more enjoyable experiences to our customers.”
Uesugi formerly served as executive vice president within Konami, after leaving electronics company Sanyo and his position as executive VP of Sanyo North America Corporation. Before that, he worked for financial firm at KPMG Azsa, and at Sumitomo Trust & Banking’s real estate division.
Konami's next big title is Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, expected to arrive March 18 in North America for current and last-gen consoles.
