The Gumboy developers return with an old-style dungeon crawler for the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Czech studio Cinemax has just announced their latest game, The Keep, a retro inspired game with updated touch screen graphics. Just your typical dungeon crawler then, eh? Not quite!
The Keep is going to be in development for 15 months, so that Cinemax can pour their love for old-school games into the game in order for them to patch up mistakes they made in the game, Inquisitor. The game will be centralised around exploring caves, puzzles, mines and of course, slaying monsters that inhabit the caves and mines. The game has been described as "hard" and that players "will die a lot," so be prepared!
The developers after releasing Inquisitor on PC vowed that they will not be releasing another RPG ever again. Inquisitor was criticised for being too hard as well as its poor quality of graphics. What a way to go back on your word, Cinemax...
The Keep will be released on the Nintendo 3DS eShop later this summer.
