NIS America held their second annual press event up in San Francisco and dropped four localization bombshells. Localization number one is none other than the sequel to the recently released Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. Introducing Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, another murder mystery adventure game spinning off from the insane events of the original. Expect a launch in fall of 2014, and once again the game is being up-ported from the PSP to the PS Vita.
Goodbye Despair's premise is similar, though with a slight spin. Once again the player takes on the role of a high school student attending Hope's Peak Academy, though it's only when the class takes a school trip to a remote tropical island that things go bad. Monokuma, the terrifying bear, returns and the murderous game begins anew. Solve mystery after mystery until ultimate discovering the secrets of the island. Just don't expect to be pleased with what you find.
I love Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, which I'm finishing the review of as we speak, and can't wait to see what improvement and upgrades are included in the sequel. It's that mixture of absolutely insane character mixed the the fugue-like state that's pervasive throughout the world. I've got to admit though, I was hoping I'd never see that stupid bear again.
Danganronpa: Goodbye Despair is coming exclusively to the PS Vita in late 2014 for both North America and Europe. Yet again it's hard not to cheer on NIS America for bringing another awesome game that may otherwise have never been localized to us. Keep up the great work, everyone!
