While Nintendo's still working on getting Mario Golf for the Game Boy Advance out on the Wii U's Virtual Console, Mario Golf: World Tour for the 3DS will just have to do. I love me some Mario Golf, so it was great to hear in yesterday's Nintendo Direct that there will be a robust single-player mode available named the Castle Club. Oh, and some more handy information: Mario Golf: World Tour will launch May 2 in stores as well as the 3DS eShop.
What is the Castle Club then? It seems like it's the broad term for the entirety of the single-player experience in Mario Golf: World Tour. From the Castle Club players will be able to access a variety of areas including training, golf courses, and tournaments, but also non-gameplay areas like shops, locker rooms and even a cafe. That also confirms one of my favorite Mario Golf features, the RPG-like feature where customizing and equipping your character can make them better at golf!
Mario Golf: World Tour will launch on May 2 exclusively for the 3DS eShop. Sure, it's a Mario sports game which in the past hasn't been the most exciting series of games from Nintendo, but like Tennis the Golf series has always really been true to a unique experience. It's definitely one of my favorite Mario sports games. Yes, World Tour will do nicely until that original Mario Golf game gets released on the Wii U virtual console.
