Of all the games no one was expecting to be announced during yesterday's Nintendo Direct, let alone made in the first place, Pokemon Battle Trozei takes the cake. Imagine a match three style puzzle game like Bejeweled in some regards only instead of jewels you match Pokemon. Not just one or two Pokemon either, because Pokemon Battle Trozei features all 718 Pokemon known through Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
It's not just about matching Pokemon in Pokemon Battle Trozei, no, you can also capture the little creatures. Then, after capturing them, players can use these Pokemon in "battles" which will help them grow in strength. Or something. I really have no idea what's going on here, butt it seems like a pretty cool Bejeweled-style game with some quirky Pokemon mechanics layered on top.
What's most alluring about this oddball Pokemon game though is that it features four player co-op! That'll be a first for the franchise.
Pokemon Battle Trozei will launch exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS eShop on March 20 for the low price of $7.99. Imagine if this game was on iOS, it would be one of the best selling games of 2014.
