Yoshi's Island and Metroid Fusion aren't on the 3DS eShop - that was for Ambassadors only. And its Metroid Zero Mission not Zero Hour...may be worth clarifying these things before posting a news article x] leaves you wide open for ridicule...

As for the reveal, I can't for the life of me understand why these games are coming to Wii U and not 3DS...

If I have a Wii U, then I can't wait for GBA Virtual Console games.

Maybe we should just leave originally handheld games on handheld consoles?

Because, Enth and THM, Yoshi's Island and Metroid Fusion were special gifts to the 3DS early adopters, as thanks for buying the console before the $80 price drop. You can't get them unless you have a 3DS bought before August 12, 2011. Making them available to everyone would destroy that.

Why? Give some good reasons.

jolteon1996, resolution plays a large part, with or without the game pad. GBA titles don't upscale well.

Well, yes, but I can't see graphics becoming a huge issue. Nintendo's not going to release something that looks grainy and/or pixelated.

They'd have to completely overhaul the graphics for some games like Square-Enix did with the iOS and Android releases of FF5 and 6. Later GBA games will be better off than earlier releases.

Maybe, but I think the fact the Ambassadors got those games 2 and a half years early is good enough. Not to mention they'll probably be about £10 each.

Well, that still doesn't seem insurmountable. Then again, I know nothing about things like that. Graphics never have been very important to me.

The "early access for free" thing was done with the NES games. Those are available to everyone in the 3DS shop- for a fee. However, Nintendo decided to do something different with the GBA games and make them Ambassador-exclusive. That way, Ambassadors would always have something that no one else did. I see nothing wrong with that. Besides, people who bought the 3DS early wouldn't like Nintendo going back on their promise to never make them available in the eShop.

From what I remember they said "didn't have any plans to ever release them" - not that it was a sure thing. But its just my opinion that I wouldn't mind if they were distributed to everybody I'd love to be able to have Mario Advance 2/4 and Golden Sun on my 3DS but I've still got the cartridges and my DSlite so I'll make do. Just thought it a bit to bring them to Wii U and not 3DS.

I hope the Nintendo 3DS will also have Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games.
