No, I'm not kidding. Goat Simulator originally started as a joke project, but the Internet turned it into something more. That's right, Goat Simulator is available for pre-order on the game's website right now for only $9.99 with guaranteed beta access through Steam. If you're wondering how a joke goat this far, Coffee Stain Studios listened to the people of the Internet and are working to bring us something that probably should have never been thought of in the first place.
Goat Simulator takes some of its inspiration from Tony Hawk and other old skateboarding games, but your goal isn't to rack up more points than your buddy sitting next to ewe. Take your goat and unleash your inner destructive desires. If that's not enough, latch onto an object with your tongue and swing it around for some extra laughs.
Coffee Stain's Anton Westergh says that they hired a team of psychologists who are probably wishing the studio was institutionalized for going through with this idea:
“We hired a full team of free to play/mobile experts AND psychologists ...They all agreed this idea was stupid, so we decided to ship it!”
What the psychologists fail to mention, however, is that this could actually turn out to be great therapy. Having a bad day? Get your goat on, wreck the neighborhood, and laugh it off while getting the release you're looking for.
I, for one, welcome Billy and our new goat overlords.
