Double Fine loves attention. Double Fine also does super cool things in their company. Combine those two things and you get Amnesia Fortnight 2014, Double Fine's yearly prototype development camp. Last year the developer started the tradition of involving the public in the event, allowing gamers to donate and vote for their favorite game pitches. Double Fine's continuing that tradition this year with 29 new game pitches from employees. 10 winners have their pitches turned into prototypes... but there's also a special guest this year.
Pendleton Ward, creator of Adventure Time, is acting as a special guest prototype creator and team leader this year! While there are 29 pitches from various Double Fine employees that will be shrunk down to 10 prototypes, Pendleton has four pitches of his own and one of them will absolutely be made into a prototype. It all hinges on what donators vote for.
In order to get involved a donation of just $1, via the Humble Bundle site, will allow donators to vote on their favorite donation pitches as well as pick up the prototypes eventually made. To get in on the Pendleton Ward action requires a bit larger donation of at least $6.90. Finally, for big investors, $35 will earn a 2014 Collector's Edition Blu-Ray package. The package features a documentary of the event as well as all the prototypes on-disc.
Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight is being presented through the Humble Bundle website much like last y ear. If you're planning on participating do it early, because the first round of votes will end and 10 pitches will be chosen to prototype on February 10. This year they're keeping the voting secret so popular games don't run away with it. In the end it doesn't even matter what games win, because you know Double Fine will create some amazing experiences no matter what.
