I sure can't judge the morality of it, but I can definitely relate with you.

Same here... blows my mind how the gaming industry seems to be purposely pulling away from multi-plats and going to more isolated markets... even if successful or profitable. I see a big article about hype for a game, I get interested... that is until I read that it's only for iOS, or only for Android, or only on the 3DS, or only on Vita. I mean sure, there's "exclusives" to systems, that's a given... but come on... blows my mind that the simplistic app games are one of the biggest main focuses of the industry at the moment. Sure apps and mobile games have been going strong for quite sometime, but how long can they keep being "cream of the crop" until that fad finally dies down... how many times can they copy over the same format of one game, put in a couple extra bells and whistles and call it by another name, until people are bored with it? Eventually a point will come when apps and mobile games are driven into the ground and the majority of people will be "bored", and then it'll be back to PC and console-based games as they try to get back to reinventing the wheel because they invested so much into mobile games and apps. *facepalm*

As far as the article goes, good to hear Square-Enix is doing better... they do make some good games, although admittedly... unlike days of old, when I see Square-Enix I don't really think Final Fantasy as the first thought like I used to (like back in days of just Squaresoft, and when it first branched into Square-Enix waters)... I tend to think games like Just Cause, Sleeping Dogs, etc. As for Final Fantasy 14 relaunch, as awesome as it looks, kind of bummed they ditched F2P and went back to a P2P structure... be nice to be able to play it F2P first to make sure it's as solid as it seems before diving in head-first in an investment -- which isn't about being cheap... there's so many subscription based games on the market, that if I were to dive head first into each and every one I wanted to try at $15/month or whatever cost, I'd be practicing what our government refers to as "deficit spending", LOL.
