With Titanfall's launch only a month away, Respawn Entertainment's Vince Zampella had a quadruple dose of announcements for the upcoming shooter's beta via Twitter. The biggest news is that the upcoming beta will not have a NDA attached to it unlike the alpha test. The next big piece of news is that beta codes won't be region locked. If you get one and you decide you don't want to play it but your buddy in Europe or Australia might, feel free to pass that code along.
If that doesn't get you excited, you also won't need an Origin account to participate in the Xbox One beta. PC owners aren't as lucky. You still have to have your Origin account if you want to join in. There is no currently announced date for the beta as Respawn still needs to have a build pass certification.
Speaking of PC gamers, Vince also let us in on the minimum hardware requirements for Titanfall:
- 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 OS
- AMD Athlon X2 2.8GHz or Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz CPU
- 4GB RAM
- 512MB VRAM
- AMD Radeon HD 4770 or Nvidia GeForce 8800GT GPU
It's good to know that all those Titans running around on your monitor won't put too much strain on your computer. It's certainly no Crysis. Expect to have your pick of the machines on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC starting March 11.
