Every game needs a ghost pirate. That's an undeniable fact. Fighting games especially need a ghost pirate character. It's one of the reasons why Super Smash Bros. has never been taken seriously. Free-to-play Xbox One fighting game Killer Instinct has been running on borrowed time in this regard, but that's changed now. Introducing Spinal, the skeleton pirate ghost, who is now available to play.
Skeleton ghost pirate Spinal clawed his way out of his very own ghostly ocean, which just happens to be the map that accompanies Spinals release. It comes with its very on ghost pirate ship and a kraken, too! While Spinal's using his ghost pirate skills to defeat his enemies on the beach, the kraken will devour his ship. Don't worry though, it's a ghost pirate ship -- it's undead and will be back when Spinal needs it.
Spinal will automatically be unlocked for Killer Instinct owners who purchased the Combo Breaker pack or the Ultra Edition of the game. Otherwise, he'll join the free-to-play rotation and is probably available for purchase individually too. Maybe? These Xbox One free-to-play games are intentionally confusing so you keep spending more money. It's just what a pirate ghost skeleton like Spinal would approve of.
How obvious is it that I have now idea whether Spinal is a good Killer Instinct character, let alone what his move-set is?
