Next on the list to receive Sony's updated PS Vita Slim is the UK, according to a press release put out today. Yes, the PCH-2000 series of the PS Vita, featuring a 1GB internal memory, Wi-Fi and an LCD screen, will be arriving on UK shores starting February 7. Wow, that's actually really soon. For UK gamers who have yet to pick up a PS Vita the new version will run them up £180.
In addition to the new screen and internal 1GB of memory, several other changes have been made to the 2000 series of PS Vita. Probably most importantly is additional battery life, getting a bump of 1-2 hours in all uses over the current PS Vita model. There are also changes to the handheld's casing to make it more comfortable in gamers' hands. Add in an overall lighter build and smaller casing and you've got a very sexy handheld.
Still no word on when or if the PS Vita Slim will be coming to North America, but it's a positive sign to hear the platform is already on its way to the UK. Sony likely views the UK as either an easier market to begin distribution in or a market that's more susceptible to picking up the new PS Vita. After all, they're positively devouring the PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita is a rather complementary device.
