If you were hoping to have your fellow hobbitses, dwarveses, and elveses to join you in Middle-Earth for a journey with your Precious, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor sadly is not the game for you. The game's Twitter account has announced that Talion's quest for vengeance will be one he undertakes alone.
Releasing later this year, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor places you in control of a ranger named Talion in the time between Bilbo's adventures in The Hobbit and Frodo's adventures with Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli during The Lord of the Rings. He and his family were killed by the armies of Sauron, but for some reason he was granted new life and granted the powers as a Wraith.
With the Nemesis system changing your allies and enemies through your actions and the option to expand Talion's powers as both a ranger and wraith as you progress, this game will be sure to give you a different experience for each playthrough.
@TobiasKarlsson_ Alas, no co-op. Shadow of Mordor is being crafted wholly as a single-player experience.— Shadow of Mordor (@middleearthgame) January 23, 2014
