The Lunar New Year is just a few days away, and Dota 2 has today revealed a new incoming hero, Terrorblade. Well, new to anyone who hasn't played the first DotA. In addition to Terroblade, day two's reveals also include news of the Random Ability Draft mode.
Terrorblade is a returning champ from the original DotA known for his use of illusions. In DotA 2, his skillset remains quite true to his original form, consisting of abilities that create doubles and, well, illusions. Take a good look:
Nice skill icons. According to his little character summary, Terrorblade was in a special hell for demons, where he was forced to gaze into his own soul (which probably sucks if you're a horrible demon). Of course, this doesn't actually harm Terrorblade, and he ends up mastering those frightening reflections to use for his own purposes.
Another cool addition coming the first week of February is a Random Ability Draft mode. Here, champs get assigned the skills of another champion. Here is the official description:
Trade the organized chaos of Dota 2 for a taste of pure bedlam! Unlocked at level 11, in this mode each player is randomly assigned a hero, and each hero's abilities are placed into a pool. PLayers then take turns choosing which abilities their hero will bring into battle. Beyond the majesty of a Pouncing Pudge, witness Axe fumbling with Psi Blades, and experience the error of Illusory Orb Magnus.
Sounds pretty entertaining. In addition to these, the New Blood Festival update will also bring a number of gameplay tweaks and fixes. The entire list of hero changes is long, so head over to the official Dota 2 New Blood Festival page to read them. Expect all this good stuff on February 6.
