While the first of NIS America's recent localization announcements, Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc, will be launching early February, their other title Demon Gaze hasn't been getting much attention. Today that changes as the PS Vita title's release date has been confirmed as April 22 in North America, April 25 in Europe. That's another Japanese dungeon-crawling RPG for the Vita, whose library continues to grow (without much western support).
In addition to the release date a handful of screenshots complete with English localization were also released, confirming the game is well on its way over at NIS. To be honest, it's difficult to tell what sort of game Demon Gaze will pan out to be. Kadokawa Games is a growing developer, known for a handful of unlocalized RPGs in recent years. Will Demon Gaze prove to be their first step into western territory? With NIS help, so be it.
Dungeon crawlers are always a rather hard sell to the North American masses, but just as Etrian Odyssey and similar Shin Megami Tensei games have grown in popularity, so may Demon Gaze find its niche. With the high standards of quality NIS America expects from their work, you can at least expect a solid game in term of production quality. Their tastes may be suspicious in some cases, however. Ah, I love those guys.
