Leaked images are spurring rumors of a new League of Legends champion, and his name is Vel'Koz. He also happens to be a tentacle monster from the Void. Screenshots show an armored, Cthulhu-like creature that travels by floating and attacks with laser beams.
The images depict Vel using ranged attacks, with effects like a purple laser beam and Void magic. Yet another screenshot shows us Vel's skillset, marking him as a Mage with plenty of slows and a knock-up E. He's also expected to be of "intermediate to difficult" skill level, and his kit has high combo potential.

After the champion leaked, someone pointed out a metal tentacle in Creator Viktor's splash art. Many players began speculating that the silhouette in the background, behind Viktor, would be an upcoming champ.
Seeing as how other Void creatures have Battlecast skins -- or Mecha, in the case of Kha'Zix -- I wouldn't be suprised if Vel gets one too. That being said, Skarner is supposedly getting a Battlecast/Mecha skin of his own, meaning the tendril in Viktor's artwork could just be Skarner's tail, not one of Vel's limbs.
Bear in mind that all of this is simply speculation, and Riot has not confirmed their next champ yet. If Vel'Koz is the next champ, then he'll be the first of 2014.
