Shaky camera thing was really wonky

I'm kind of curious what lore can be pulled from this. In support of the sequel theories for a same timeline as DkS1, there are nods to previous characters and the like, perhaps there's some interesting pieces we can take from this as well.

This doesn't look like Lordran. The bonfires make an obvious reappearance, but perhaps this is another area of the same world, like Astora, Carim, and Catarina.

Either way, I'm hype. This game looks like it's exactly what I wanted: Same gameplay and style, but simply different content. A new world to explore on an upgraded engine, if you will.

One of the current theories that I find really interesting is that this is where the "Lords" of Lordran ran to.

DkS1 stuff, the age of fire was dwindling, lords (Gwynevere & Friends) saw their time was coming to an end, fled Anor Londo, etc. This is all kind of normal fare that isn't hidden deep in text of some awkward item.
In the Network Test, the merchant NPC actually notes Giants had crossed the seas and arrived here. The thought is that these Giants were the lords that left to, where all the deities peaced off to. When they got here, their presence caused some kind of great war or conflict that destroyed this place, which is why it's all in ruins.

In more detail;

I am at the edge of my seat for this game. I cannot wait to test my mettle on these new bosses, all of which look thrill inspiring.

The last bit reminded me of The Painted World of Ariamis a lot actually. I wonder if we get to learn more about Ariamis in this game.

Giants crossing could well mean the Gods that fled Anor Londo but even if they are a shout to Demon Souls it will be interesting to see how that will piece together the lore of Dark Souls 1 & 2 if at all. Hype is still strong in this one.

Each trailer somehow gets me more hyped, and I've been overly hyped since its initial announcement. One thing I find interesting though is that DaS 2 landed a T rating, fairly surprising considering the others managed to get an M, does this mean there's a bit less gore or that they felt the game was more of a higher end T rather than being a lower end M

Maybe it was M rated because of Quelaag?
Have not played Demons Souls so can't make an excuse for that game.

The new area is called " Drangleic"

I think it takes place after the fire has gone out. Things like the Pharis hat and the lighting spear are back and item descriptions are said to talk about long ago warriors.
