Another year has come and gone, and with it our second Game of the Year countdown. Over the previous week, we went over some of our favorite games from 2013 and declared them our nominees for "Game of the Year." We tried our best to explain why these titles were chosen, and though not everyone can fully agree with the entire list of ten, we felt the choices are nonetheless deserving of their nominations.
After some back-and-forth over which game should actually win "Game of the Year," we've decided on Irrational Games' BioShock Infinite. Applause! The studio brought to life the fantastical floating city of Columbia, and Ken Levine's incredible writing introduced us to a spectacular cast. Booker and Elizabeth thoroughly won us over, but the real stars of the show have to be the Lutece twins.
No doubt many of you can't claim to be surprised, given how much impact BioShock Infinite made last year. As with any game, it isn't perfect, but Infinite managed to be the most talked-about title of 2013 for so many reasons. Love it or hate it, the newest BioShock chapter turned a lot of heads and changed how many of us perceive one of the greatest franchises of modern gaming.
