If by chance you missed out on 2014's biggest scare, Outlast, but happen to have a PlayStation 4 then you're in luck. Red Barrel Games, developers of Outlast, confirmed today that the game would be be made available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers on PlayStation 4 in February. Our very own editor Lydia highly recommends checking it out.
In Outlast players take on the role of investigative journalist who breaks into an insane asylum for... research. Things inside are much, much, much more terrible than he expected. Let's be honest, the plot serves its purpose, but the real seller here is just how utterly terrifying the game can be. You're going to get grabbed by crazy monster dudes. It's going to happen. It's going to happen for free.
Our PS+ update came from Red Barrel Games and not Sony direct, so while this is about as official as you can get things can always go wonky at the last second. Hopefully Sony gives us an update on February PlayStation Plus games soon. Outlast is coming. You are unprepared.
