2013 is ending shortly, which means we here at Neoseeker are way late on this Game of the Year stuff. That means we need to get the ball rolling as fast as possible. It begins today with the start of our Community Game of the Year polling.
Last year's surprise winner was Borderlands 2, which made a striking run towards the end of polling after the PC gaming community joined hands and united their vote. Will we see a similar scenario this year? Will the 3DS community join around Pokemon X or Y? Will the PS3 community push The Last of Us to the top? Or will our quiet, yet oh so powerful mobile community wake the giant and vote Marvel: War of Heroes number one.
Every member has only a single vote, so make it count! It can come from any platform, just so long as it was made available for purchase in 2013. Odds are if you edit your vote down the line we'll catch it, but no promises. Also, we're not sure when the polling will end. That makes it a little bit easier to avoid mass edits prior to polling end.
Neoseeker's Community Game of the Year award is our way of dropping all the critical analysis and letting the masses take control. As such, it's best to dismiss your expectations and embrace the absurdity of it all. Call of Duty: Ghosts will probably be on this list, but so will The Last of Us. Equal voice to all members creates some interesting combinations.
What's best to take to heart is that every game that gets even a single vote is as represented as each other game. Sure, it may not win, but it's on the list and that matters. It matters! Pick your favorite game, no matter what it is, and go vote now!
