Gaijinworks teased an upcoming announcement in the fist issue of RETRO Magazine, followed shortly by the news that the first issue of RETRO magazine had been delayed. That news, however, was followed shortly by the release of RETRO Magazine's first issue online preview. Lucky for us the ad featuring Gaijinworks new localization was included and we can confirm that Class of Heroes 2G, a PS3 update of the PSP dungeon crawler, is coming westward.
Class of Heroes' ad itself reads as following:
- More Music
- More Pixels
- More Monsters
- More Labyrinths
- New Dual-Screen Play
- Coming Soon
Gaijinworks and MonkeyPaw Games partnered to successfully bring the original Class of Heroes 2 to the west through a complicated and likely very stressful process. It involved an unsuccessful Kickstarter run that still resulted in the game's digital release and subsequent retail UMD release in limited quantities. Apparently it was a success overall, since otherwise today's announcement wouldn't be possible.
Hopefully now that the cat is out of the bag Gaijinworks will have more information on the game's upcoming release. It's great to hear that a solid niche title like Class of Heroes 2 will get a proper console release, thereby reaching a broader market, with tons of bonus content to boot. Plus, if it's successful, maybe we'll get Class of Heroes 3 down the line as well!
