Not cool, Sony. Putting up a listing for Team Ico's fabled beast of a project The Last Guardian on the Sony Entertainment Network website is not cool. Considering the game hasn't been shown in an official capacity in, well, years, and at best all Sony will say of the project currently is that it hasn't been canceled... this simply isn't fair. You take back your store listing and you keep it until you have something more to show us.
That won't keep us from poring over the listing for any scrumptious details, however. Unfortunately though the listing is rather scant and holds only the two following bullet point details:
- Directed by multi-award-winning game director Fumito Ueda
- Take charge of an imaginary creature blending elements from many different animals
- A strange and fantastic world for you to explore
Come on. Duh. At least give us some tantalizing detail to speculate on for the next half-century while The Last Guardian's development is wrapped up. "Imaginary creature," huh? Does that mean the protagonist is imagining the whole adventure? "Multi-award-winning," eh? Does that Mean Fumito Ueda considers himself above any one of his many awards? See Sony, this is what you've made me resort to.
The Last Guardian was announced for PlayStation 3 what feels like 50 years ago for the PlayStation 3. Due to the radio silence regarding its development, many expect the project has been moved from the PlayStation 3 to the PlayStation 4 or even the PS Vita. Best case, this listing is a sign that more information is coming soon. Worst case, just more trolling from Sony with one of the most anticipated titles of the past few years.
