Cellar Door Games's Rogue Legacy was one of those surprise indie sensations of 2013. True to their nature, these indie devs aren't content with the game as-is and are hard at work expanding the content as well as pumping out fixes. Today marks the release Rogue Galaxy's patch 1.2, packed full of dozens of bug fixes in addition to a ton of great new content. Indie games, they really are the gift that keeps on giving.
Let's start with the major content included with patch 1.2, from a new class to new bosses. These are what Cellar Door Games calls the patches' main changes:
- Added 5 boss remixes to the game.
- Added 1 new class.
- Added 4 new traits.
- Added 28 new rooms.
- Added ability to reduce shader effect quality for people playing on slower machines.
- Added 6 new Steam achievements (Steam only).
Again, these content changes come in addition to dozens of bug fixes and balance changes. That includes much of the current end-game content being made easier so that it scales better into the new content. Otherwise it's just type fixes, crashing bugs, animation errors, and oh, a new small winter effect just for the holidays.
Rogue Legacy is currently available on PC for around $15 (though a little bird told me it's available from certain outlets at 50% off). It will also be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita in 2014.
