Are all those Pokemon clogging up your boxes in Pokemon X and Y? Do you have a horde of anxiously awaiting Pokemon from Pokemon Black and White, or Black and White version 2, that you'd love to bring over to the newest generation? Well then Nintendo and I have some good news for you. It was confirmed today that the PokeBank will be launching on December 27.
That's not all, however! For everyone that downloads the PokeBank and its partner app the Poke Transporter between December 27 and January 31 a 30-day free trial awaits. After that, the PokeBank will cost $4.99 a year to help cover server costs. What can you do with the PokeBank? Well, here's a short feature list from Nintendo:
- Deposit, withdraw, and manage up to 3,000 Pokémon in private boxes online through an internet connection
- Transfer Pokémon from multiple copies of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, including the downloadable versions, using one Nintendo 3DS system
- Transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, and Pokémon White 2 to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y using the Poké Transporter, a linked application received when you download Pokémon Bank
Make sure to check out the Nintendo-provided introduction to PokeBank video below, too. Sounds like it will be a great feature to encourage players to go back to Pokemon X and Y if they've already captured all the 'mons and have been waiting for something new.
