Alright, 3DS owners, you're in for a treat. An update released today to the handheld adds the much-anticipated Miiverse and Nintendo ID support. About time, right? Oh, and you can now transfer your 3DS content to another.
Now, users can actually register a Nintendo Network ID to their 3DS, unlocking the ability to download free content (such as game demos) from the eShop directly to your handheld. If you have a Wii U, then you can use your existing ID from that. Definitely a convenience we could've used earlier.
Anyway, the addition of Miiverse support means 3DS users can connect with the community in yet another way -- a pretty cool way, actually. Bump into other players and post messages, send your screenshots, and so forth. You know how this works by now.
Obviously, the Miiverse requires an Internet connection, but you can also use the offline mode and queue up three posts ahead of time.
As for the content transfer, you're allowed to do so an unlimited number of times but only once every seven days. Prior to the update, users could only transfer their stuff up to five times.
Now go get that update.
