The Division is going to be yet another gorgeous game for next-gen, and Ubisoft is eager to show off just how pretty the open-world shooter based on Tom Clancy's work will be. More specifically, they're introducing the Snowdrop engine.
The Snowdrop showcase was released this weekend at VGX, and today, Ubisoft goes into a little more detail about the new tech. For one, it's been designed for efficiency, to accommodate Massive's limited number of staff. Yes, a studio named "Massive" is actually quite small.
To the player, the benefits are obvious. According to Ubisoft, The Division has "the most detailed New York City ever shown in a video game: meaning both the huge scale of the city, as well as the most intricate details. Snowdrop has different tools that make it possible."
