Battlefield 4 isn't without problems, and that's no secret. Well, fixing this blockbuster FPS is a priority for EA and DICE, and the former has revealed that all "future projects" by DICE are on hold until then. In fact, Battlefield 4 is currently the top priority for both publisher and developer.
Speaking to IGN, an EA representative explained that DICE is "not moving onto future projects or expansions until we sort out all the issues with Battlefield 4. We know we still have a ways to go with fixing the game – it is absolutely our #1 priority. The team at DICE is working non-stop to update the game."
When asked how this would affect other DICE games like the highly-anticipated (putting it lightly) Star Wars: Battlefront and Mirror's Edge 2, EA remained vague at best. A spokesperson clarified, "We haven’t announced a ship date for Battlefront but right now the team is focused on fixing ."
This all means that future DLC is also delayed until further notice. However, EA chose to release the recent China Rising add-on because it was "already in the final stages of development by the time issues began with Battlefield 4." As such, the publisher opted to "fulfill our promise" to release it on time.
Lastly, the company stated, "We know many of our players are frustrated, and we feel your pain. We will not stop until this is right."
