Strong rumors are going around that Quantum Break is going to make an appearance at the VGX awards December 7. It appears, however, that we'll be getting a taste of that a bit earlier than expected. Tonight during Microsoft's Xbox One countdown live-show a "Future of Xbox One" reel of games was shown. Intermingled in there was about five never-before-seen seconds of Quantum Break.
While the footage shown certainly looks within the realm of possibilities for gameplay, it's the odd camera angles that make me think this footage is cinematic in nature. For instance, why would the camera bow down to follow a dude getting hit in the head, or pan back to show the entire care falling out of the sky? That's just clever cinematic camera work, rather than in-game action.
However, if Remedy's using this footage as an example of what they hope Quantum Break will look like in action, then cheers! I can't wait to see what those guys have in store for us next. Quantum Break is of course an Xbox One exclusive and will hopefully be coming out in 2014.
