How long have been waiting for more Fractals content in Guild Wars 2? Well, we're about to see actual results from the July election, as ArenaNet is finally releasing that big Fractals update we've been looking forward to. This means new levels, new enemies, new rewards, and other changes.
Screenshots and a new trailer tease new Fractals of the Mists bosses taken from the Molten Alliance and Aetherblade dungeons, both of which might prove tougher than Jade Maw. That is, if the Living Story dungeons were any indication. Molten Alliance and Aetherblade levels are also joining the mix, as a result.
Drops will also be updated to include a Fractal Tonic, an infinite item that lets you transform into any Fractal NPC or enemy. Daily rewards will also be raised, and new sigils and runes can be earned (not sure how yet). All in all, lots of changes that will make Fractals tougher and more rewarding.
Agony Resistance will be experiencing some tweaks as well. Overall, ArenaNet appears to be making AR easier to acquire.
To assist you in your ventures into the mists, a new agony resist infusion slot has been added to all infused rings and backpacks.
- All current infused rings and backpacks will start with a +5 agony resist infusion (this replaces the +5 agony resist that was previously on the item itself).
- Players will be able to find +1 agony resist infusions commonly in the fractals after level 10.
- Artificers of at least 100 skill will be able to combine two infusions of the same level with a Thermocatalytic Reagent to make an infusion of the next level. For example, you could take two +2 infusions, combine them with a Thermocatalytic Reagent, and create a +3 infusion.
And if you're the competitive sort, new Fractals of the Mists leaderboards will let you compete against other Fractal runners at higher levels. If your personal level is above 30, currently, it will be reset to 30 when the leaderboards launch.
The Eternal Battlegrounds' Obsidian Sanctum puzzle will receive the following update:
The Eternal Battlegrounds jumping puzzle, the Obsidian Sanctum, is receiving some changes! Along with being able to enter the jumping puzzle from inside your world’s keep in the Eternal Battlegrounds, you’ll now be able to enter the map directly through the WvW menu. Along with that, we’ve added a new arena space to the Obsidian Sanctum where opposing groups of players can meet up for combat. The Borderlands Bloodlust buff will no longer apply in the Obsidian Sanctum.
The big "Fractured" update is expected to launch November 26. It's going to be awesome.
