Perhaps out of jealousy over Sony's big PlayStation 4 All-Access Live event held the night before the PS4 launched, Microsoft has announced an Xbox One event of their own. Microsoft's "Day One Countdown" will air at 11:00 PM EST on November 21, an hour prior to the Xbox One being launched across the world (or at least in 13 different territories. It also will air via Spike TV, but can also be viewed on Xbox.com and on Xbox Live.
Unlike the PlayStation 4 event, however, it doesn't appear that Microsoft is planning any big announcements or reveals for the Day One Countdown:
"Watch in horror as our “Dead Rising 3” zombies descend on Times Square, enjoy interviews with fans and game developers, check out gameplay from highly anticipated Xbox One titles, and pump up the jams with live performances from Deadmau5 and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis."
That's right, Microsoft is just throwing a big ol' huge party as opposed to Sony's rather low-key announcement-focused event. Will it make for better TV? Probably, but at the same time it's not necessarily so important to watch for gamers who only want to know what's coming next to their platform.
To help build up hype for event, Microsoft is running three Xbox One launch title-themed commercials, which we've embedded below for everyone to check out. They're live-action and not particularly funny, but they are certainly commercials. Wait, what?
Xbox One launches on November 22. Get hyped for it starting November 21 with Microsoft's Day One Countdown airing at 11:00 PM EST on Spike, Xbox.com and Xbox Live.
