It's a glorious day to be a Crusader Kings II fan, as today marks the release of the Sons of Abraham expansion. That's not all, however, as Paradox is also releasing the long awaited 2.0 patch in addition to three new DLC packs. Sure, they could have staggered the release of everything, but they've got it ready now so why not let fans decide what and when they want all of this awesome new Crusader Kings II content?
Sons of Abraham by itself should be exactly what the most dedicated of Crusader Kings II fans want. And by dedicated I mean horribly addicted, because there's no other way to be after having started Crusader Kings II. Control and interact with the Pope and the College of Cardinals, travel on pilgrimages to holy places, experience different features and scenarios related to Israel, and look forward to hundreds of new religious events just in general -- for all three Abrahamic religions.
If Sons of Abraham alone had been released, that'd be likely be plenty, but today holds many more gifts for Crusader Kings II fans. First off is patch 2.0, which adds various features like Ironman mode, Steam achievements and workshop support, religious rebels and dozens of gameplay, AI, modding and more tweeks and updates. Then there's the DLC -- more content! Three packs available starting today:
- Crusader Kings II: Military Orders Unit Pack (Christian Holy Orders)
- Crusader Kings II: Warriors of Faith Unit Pack (Non-Christian Holy Orders)
- Crusader Kings II: Hymns of Abraham (Music DLC)
If, Abraham willing, your mind is capable of embracing Crusader Kings II and all of its strategic glory, I'd imagine it's fairly difficult not to be excited for all the great content available now. Sons of Abraham expansion, patch 2.0, and three new DLC packs away for all of the Crusader Kings II addicts out there. Some wil be playing assorted next-gen games for the next year, some will play Crusader Kings II. This is for them.
