Good going Sony, nice start for them and no doubt when the console goes out to the other regions on the 29th November, it will sure sell just as well in my opinion.

Just wait for the Brack Friday Bunduru. The numbers will be greatly padded after that.

It's not only Sony's fastest selling console but it's the fastest selling console of all time in 24 hours. =o

You can't compare Microsoft's Day 1 numbers with Sony's. Sony only launched the PS4 in USA and Canada while the Xbone is launching in 13 countries day 1. You'll have to wait a few months to compare them.

It helps when you actually have the consoles in stock. How many PS3s were actually in the US alone on launch day? Something like 70,000-100,000? With less than 10 pre orders available per store. I am impressed though that they were able to manufacture that many. Looks like they learned from their mistakes.

And 'certain' people claimed that console gaming is dead. They all should eat their words.

Very surprised and happy to see this console launch become the best of all time.

The other console launches from the past two generations doesn't even come close, from what I've researched.

Good one Chad.

The sad thing is after over a year, the Wii U total sales in North America is around 1.7 million. Playstation 4 reached over half that amount in 1 day.

How long do you guys think until they'll pass Wii U sales? This holiday season?

We did call it. It's only a matter of time before it does.

Manufacturing to keep up demand is one thing, manufacturing to keep up demand and quality is another, unfortunately it seems it was a swing and a miss for Sony on the latter.
